The Tampa Bay Lightning have found a way to bring the Tampa Bay area together when they hit the ice, causing electric energy among fans from St. Petersburg to Brandon and everywhere in between. While Florida may not seem like the most natural place for hockey to have an enthused fan base, it is! Because of that, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the City of Oldsmar will be welcoming a new outdoor ice rink, as part of the Build the Thunder initiative, where kids can hone their hockey skills. “The city is excited to partner with a world class organization like the Tampa Bay Lightning to bring new and exciting recreational opportunities to the community. The facility will be first rate and we are looking forward to help “Build The Thunder” right here in Oldsmar,” says Chip Potts, from Leisure Services at the City of Oldsmar.
